In addition to having a passport good for travel, some countries may require you to get a tourist visa prior to travel in order to be allowed permission to enter the country. A visa is basically a stamp on your passport giving you permission to stay in that country for a specific amount of time. Currently, the only country that requires a visa for US/Canadians/Australians citizens that we service is Brazil. (EU and South Africans do not require a visa currently for Brazil.) We currently do not provide Visa Processing Services for Brazil, but we partner up with the most trust-worthy company in the Visa Processing Industry. DO I NEED A PASSPORT TO TRAVEL TO BRAZIL? YES. Everyone needs a passport to travel to Brazil. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date you arrive in Brazil and have at least one blank page available for the visa stamp. DO I NEED A VISA TO TRAVEL TO BRAZIL? It depends on what country you hold citizenship from. If you are an American, Canadian or Australian citizen you DO REQUIRE A VISA IN ADDITION TO A PASSPORT IN ORDER TO TRAVEL TO BRAZIL. You may require a yellow fever certificate to travel to Brazil but only if you have been to the following countries within 90 days before entering Brazil. Any country in Sub Saharan Africa,Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname Currently you do NOT require shots to travel to Brazil unless you are travelling to extremly remote parts of the Amazon. HOW DO I GET A VISA? You can get a Visa in person at our closest consulate of Brazil to where you live or through a third party company that specializes in processing visas. IS IT SAFE TO SEND YOUR PASSPORT TO THE VISA COMPANY? Yes if you send it to the one we recommend and send it securely via FEDEX/UPS/Priority Mail or equivalent. DO I HAVE TO SEND MY ACTUAL PASSPORT? Yes. A visa is a stamp on your passport so you must send in your passport. CAN I GET ONE UPON ARRIVAL? No. You have to get one before departure. It can take up to a few weeks to process your visa so DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. You cannot board a flight to Brazil without a VISA so make sure you have proper documentation!! WHAT CITIES IN THE USA AND CANADA HAVE CONSULATES OF BRAZIL? The following is a list of Consulates of Brazil in the USA as well as the jurisdiction UNITED STATES: CLICK HERE CANADA:

WHAT ABOUT VISA LOCATIONS FOR EUROPE/MIDDLE EAST OR THE REST OF THE WORLD? If you are in the Middle East you can process your visa in Beirut, Kuwait City, or Abu Dhabi among others. If you are in Europe there is a consulate of Brazil in just about every major European capital. The same corresponds to major world capitals in Asia, Africa and Latin America. We recommend obtaining a visa with as much lead time as possible to prevent any delays in obtaining visas or “crunch time” during high season (New Year’s/Carnival). Do not wait until the last minute!!!! Depending on your consulate it can take 1 or 2 days to 1 to 2 months!!!! What are the required documents to get a visa? Each consulate has different requirements. Check the consulate closest to your jurisdiction to find out exact details. What is the cost to obtain a Visa? Tourist Visa Fees: * United States citizens will be charged a non-refundable processing fee of US$ 160.00 per visa, in reciprocity to an identical fee paid by Brazilian citizens who apply for a Visa to the United States; HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A VISA? IT completely depends on the consulate the you send. It can range from 24 hours to 4 or more weeks. Check with your corresponding consulate for details or call Travisa and speak to a representative and ask!! IS IT EASY TO GET A VISA? If you follow the instructions that are straightforward off the consulate in your jurisdiction’s website or the Travisa website it should be a smooth process. Make sure to have all your information complete and EXACTLY as they ask for it.
