Running of the Bulls + Madrid & Barcelona

Overview

If you are looking to experience one of the World’s Top Festivals (San Fermin), but also want to explore two of Spain's most popular cities, we recommend booking our Running of the Bulls Plus Madrid & Barcelona. Keep in mind that the dates for this package must be around July 6th to 14th as this is when the San Fermin festival takes place. Every year millions of people flock to Pamplona to experience days filled with drinking Sangria, eating delicious tapas, enjoying the local festivities and for the brave ones – running for their lives in front of angry bulls!

To get to Pamplona, Spain, most travelers have to go through either Madrid or Barcelona (Spain's largest travel hubs) so this itinerary is extremely convenient. It's also more cost effective as there are more flights in and out of these cities and you can take a train to/from Pamplona. If you have never been to Spain, these cities are also must-sees. Madrid is a bustling European capital with incredible nightlife, amazing restaurants and a vast array of cultural sites and events throughout the year. Barcelona is one of the world’s most visited cities with incredible sites (Sagrada Familia, Park Guell), amazing architecture, and a Mediterranean spirit!

This package is built where your flight lands in Madrid and departs out of Barcelona (or vice-versa) and you take trains to/from Pamplona. The recommended days are 2 to 3 in Madrid, 3 to 4 in Pamplona and 2 to 3 in Barcelona.

Day 1 – Transfer to your Madrid hotel from Madrid Airport or Train Station. Day/Night of Leisure.
Day 2 – A hop-on hop-off Madrid sightseeing tour by open-top double-decker bus is the perfect introduction to this incredible city. Your 24 hour ticket allows you to board and disembark at any of the 37 stops along two interconnecting routes, so you can explore city sights at your own pace.
Day 3 – Toledo Full Day Tour – Located 70 km away from Madrid is Toledo, a beautiful city-museum declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is one of the oldest towns in Europe and has a great artistic beauty and buildings from almost all periods in history (Arabian, Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque style).
Day 4 – A driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the train station. In Pamplona, you will be picked up from train station and check into hotel. Day & Night at leisure to relax.
Day 5 – Early wake up or meet/up with the guide (if you have pulled an “all-nighter”) to see the running of the bulls (7am!) from the comfort of your VIP Balcony. Coffee/pastries included as well as company guide. Enjoy a buffet breakfast right after the running of the bulls in one of the most impressive 18th-century palaces of Pamplona. After breakfast, you will go on a city tour where our guides will tell you more about the San Fermin festival, the history and traditions of the city, our culture and gastronomy. Night at Leisure.
Day 6 – Morning at Leisure (a lot of people will try to run with the bulls after getting a feel of it the day before.) Go to the Bullfight at around 6pm.
Day 7 – Day at Leisure to relax and check out the local festivities. Check out the fireworks at night followed by a night at leisure or check out the local bars and pubs.
Day 8 – A driver will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the Train Station. In Barcelona, a driver will be waiting for you at arrivals to take you to your hotel.

The Hop-on/hop-off concept means that you can get on or off the bus at all stops along the route. If you want to spend time at a Barcelona attraction, then just “hop off” the tour bus and “hop on” again later, when you are ready to continue the route. The hop-on-hop-off buses are in constant circulation and you usually don’t have to wait for more that 15 to 25 minutes for the next hop-on-hop-off bus to come by. You will have a 24 hour ticket for this tour in your package.
Day 10: Explore two masterpieces by the architect Antoni Gaudi on a 4.5-hour skip-the-line tour of Parc Güell and the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Marvel at Gaudi’s trademark mosaics and motifs, such as the dragon statue and serpentine benches in Parc Güell.
