Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo

Location: Machu Picchu, Cusco – Peru
Address: Pueblo de Machu Picchu, 084, Machu Picchu, Cusco, 8681, Peru

Description:

Located at 2,020 meters (6,627 ft.) above sea level the Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo occupies a private five-hectare (12.3-acre) mountainside reserve, just across from the train station of Machu Picchu Pueblo.

110 kilometers (70 miles) from the City of Cusco between the highlands and the rain forest. Cusco City is 3.5 hours away by train; the recommended route is to travel by car to Ollantaytambo and continue by train for one and a half hours.

It is also possible to walk the Inca Trail on a one-day trip, exploring the archeological remains and return by bus.

Popular with those heading to the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu, Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo is an intimate Andean village with terraced hills, waterfalls, stone pathways, and 83 whitewashed adobe casitas tucked away in the cloud forest.

Member of National Geographic Unique Lodges of the World, the property has 12 acres of exquisite natural beauty, where 214 bird species, such as the golden-headed quetzal and the iconic Andean cock-of-the-rock and the world’s largest native orchid collection (372 species) have been registered.

After exploring the Historic Sanctuary and in-house excursions, guests can enjoy the Unu Spa, which combines the classic nurturing with a mystical Andean approach.

Natural products are derived from local botanical extracts (mint, eucalyptus, and orchids), thus providing a pleasing spiritual, sensual, and soothing experience.

The first-class restaurant features stunning views of the Vilcanota River and shares the secrets of Peruvian cuisine with a contemporary twist.

A Royal Inca retreat thoughtfully designed for discerning travelers seeking a truly authentic encounter. One Inkaterra Suite adjoining one Suite, each with a terrace and plunge pool, overlooks a lush garden with private entrance. Travelers register in the privacy of the Villa, and our extended VIP treatment includes round-the-clock butler service.

Travelers may also choose to dine privately, served by Inkaterra staff. Sleeping accommodations include Suite Inkaterra (King) and Suite (King or twin) with 100% cotton.

Each Villa has an open wood-burning fireplace, plus sitting and dining areas. With tranquil views of the private garden, the expansive marble bathrooms offer an indoor and open-air shower, a tub, a separate commode area, cotton robes, and Andean slippers crafted from recycled materials.

The restaurant and adjacent terraces were built as a large glasshouse with an exceptional view of the Vilcanota River and the surrounding green mountains.

Unu Spa (water in Quechua) is Inkaterra’s unique SPA concept, combining the classic nurturing of a Spa with a mystical traditionally Andean approach.

All products are 100% natural, obtained from local botanical extracts, providing a pleasing spiritual, sensual and soothing experience.

UNU Spa is located near the Andean Sauna and the natural flowing spring-water pond at Inkaterra Machu Picchu Pueblo Hotel.

Its name captures the beauty of this white orchid, making direct reference to its sweet aroma. The word “Fragrans” comes directly from latin fragrantia which means sweet smell, and later in the XVI century, from the French language fragrance.
