Description:
If walls could talk, ours would have more than one century of intriguing tales to tell. The Hotel Locarno was inaugurated in 1925 as a refined 5-star hotel by the original Swiss owners who named it after their hometown. The famous illustrator Anselmo Ballester was entrusted for the advertising poster.
Originally opened in 1925, the Hotel Locarno is a masterpiece unto itself, just a stone’s throw from the splendid Piazza del Popolo. It has a total of 44 units, all of which feature preserved period features such as parquet floors and marble bathroom accents. In addition to classic, superior and deluxe rooms, guests can also choose from a selection of more spacious suites.
Rooms here are spacious when compared to other upscale Rome hotels, but where they excel is their perfectly executed classic style. You’ll find a mix of old-school Rome, Art Deco, and gilded age styles throughout the rooms here.
With a full range of concierge services, Hotel Locarno Staff offers assistance with booking tickets for local attractions and tours. Parking is available nearby at an additional fee.
Guests can enjoy a drink or a light snack in this property’s airy internal courtyard area. Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are also offered here and an additional alfresco service is available on this hotel’s roof terrace. The bar is one of the best in town, with a mixologist formerly from Buddha Bar Paris knocking up cocktails such as the signature Roma Bracciano, with Campari and vermouth, Earl Drunk, and tea-infused vodka served in a teapot.
Situated in the heart of central Rome, this hotel is close to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. The shopping districts of Via del Babuino, Via Condotti and Via di Ripetta are also nearby.
