The story goes that the designation of Three Crosses Street is attributed to the installation of three crosses at the site of the execution by the Inquisition, as a reminder of the burning at the stake of three heretics who desecrated an image of the Virgin on Health Street.
These heretics, two women and one man, led to the street acquiring this name from the 17th century onwards. And in a certain sense, our hotel also owes its name to that heresy. The history of our hotel takes us to a school run by the Servants of Mary, making the street well known in Madrid.
From the mid-18th century until 1967, the Petit Palace Tres Cruces building was filled with classrooms and children busy learning and studying. The hotel preserves part of its past in the original beams that can be seen in many rooms.
