Budapest Széchenyi Thermal Baths

A soak in a thermal bath is a quintessential Budapest experience that every traveler must experience! Budapest is known as the “city of spas” with over 100 thermal springs to choose from.

These baths, or “fürdok” in Hungarian, are heated by natural thermal springs and usually include on-spa services, locker/changing rooms, restaurants, bars as well as steam rooms. The largest spa in the city and in all of Europe is the world famous Budapest Széchenyi Thermal Baths.

It was Built in 1913 and features 18 pools to choose from. Its water is supplied by two thermal springs, their temperature is  165 °F and  171 °F. Components of the thermal water include sulfate, calcium, magnesium, bicarbonate and a significant amount of metaboric acid and fluoride.

The baths are a great for people of all ages to spend a long relaxing afternoon, morning or evening and will be one of your Budapest bucket list experiences.
