The Praia do Forte Tour is a full-day tour. On this tour, you will visit and see some sea turtles and take a dip in the ocean. Located 41 miles from Salvador, in northeastern Brazil, and facing the Atlantic Ocean.
The beach is famous for its clear waters, white sand, natural pools, rivers, and an ecological reserve of native flora and fauna. Furthermore, Praia do Forte has been nicknamed the “Brazilian Polynesia”. Its 7 miles of beaches provide a whole range of leisure pursuits.
Praia do Forte Tour Description:
First, you will visit the Tamar Project during this tour. TAMAR stands for Tartarugas Marinhas which means Sea Turtles. The Project is a non-profit organization with its main objective to protect sea turtles from extinction on the Brazilian coastline.
The establishment is open all year long, but from July to September, biologists are managing the nests. In the summer, the newly hatched turtles do their race to the sea.
In the visitors’ area, you will find pools with turtles and different types of sea animals, and can even touch them. You can also watch young turtles being released to the sea at certain times of the day. Also, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a local fishing village.
At the end of the tour, the guide will take you to Praia de Guarajuba to enjoy the beach, which is famous for its warm waters and tide pools. After a couple of hours of swimming and relaxing the guide will get you to take everyone back to their hotels.
