The San Andres Island Tour is a great way to explore the island, see it’s main attractions and get a better idea of its history.
San Andres Island Tour Description:
During this half-day San Andres Island Tour, you’ll visit the First Baptist Church, which with its red roof captures the attention of travelers and has a viewpoint to admire the entire panorama of the island. The temple, which is the oldest in San Andrés, was built in 1847 with pine wood brought from Alabama in the United States. Later you’ll visit the famous Morgan Cave, a place that has its own legend around the pirate Morgan, born in England in 1635, who arrived on the island and hid all the treasure he stole from the Spaniards here. No one has ever found the pirate’s fortune but the inhabitants say that when the water level drops, everything that Morgan hid there will emerge. This is one of the places in San Andrés that can only be accessed with a local guide.
Another attraction that you’ll visit on this tour of San Andrés is the Casa Museo, a building that was restored to show tourists what the traditional architecture of the island was like. Its built wooden on stilts and has the kitchen separated from the house, to prevent fires. You’ll also visit the natural pool of West View, located in the southwest part of the island, and from here you’ll witness a huge variety of colorful fish, corals and even a sunken museum. On this side of the island there’s no beach, the sea must be accessed by stairs, slideways and trampolines. Finally, you’ll discover the fun Blow Hole, which is a natural curious phenomenon where a jet of water several meters high shoots out. It is similar to a geyser with the difference being that it’s not a thermal water jet.
