Valparaiso and Vina del Mar Tour Description:
This Valparaiso and Vina del Mar Tour starts from your hotel and heads towards the Pacific coast, crossing the green valleys of Curacavà and Casablanca. Taking the coastal road, we will arrive at the top of ValparaÃso and be able to admire its 43 hills covered in colorful houses that surround the bay.
Valparaiso is a port city on Chile’s coast. It’s also known for its steep funiculars and colorful, clifftop homes. La Sebastiana, the quirky former residence of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, is now a museum with far-reaching Pacific views.
During the 19th century, an influx of European immigrants left their mark on the city’s architecture and cultural institutions, many of which congregate around downtown’s Plaza Sotomayor.
Also. the historical center of this port city was declared a World Heritage Site, increasing the city’s attractiveness and desirability as a tourism destination.
We will visit the commercial, historic, and business districts, including a trip to the National Congress. Following this, we will continue towards its neighboring city Viña del Mar, famous for its gardens and Flower Clock.
Clean and orderly Viña del Mar is a sharp contrast to the charming jumble of neighboring ValparaÃso. Manicured boulevards lined with palm trees, stately palaces, a sprawling public beach, and beautiful expansive parks have earned it the nickname of Ciudad JardÃn (Garden City).
Its official name, which means ‘Vineyard by the Sea,’ stems from the area’s colonial origins as the hacienda of the Carrera family. It’s a popular weekend and holiday destination for rich Chileans and its summer festivals.
Finally. the tour will visit the Casino, Avenida Perú and San MartÃn, the residential sectors holding modern architecture and finally arrive at Reñaca Beach. In the middle of the afternoon, we will return to Santiago.
