Location: Istanbul (Old City)
Address: Sultanahmet, Tevkifhane Sk. No:1
Description:
It’s not every day you get to stay in a century-old Turkish prison, refurbished for luxury living. The building was designed by Mimar Kemaleddin Bey beginning in 1918 as a prime example of Turkish neoclassical architecture, with an emphasis on pointed arches, ornate tiles, dramatic domes and towers. You can still experience many of those original elements today during your stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul.
The century-old neoclassical home is a tranquil sanctuary in the middle of Istanbul’s Old City, Sultanahmet, bounded by the mystic waters of the Sea of Marmara and the Bosphorus. While just steps away from top historic attractions such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, our 65-room Hotel offers a calming space filled with charm and elevated Four Seasons care from our more than 200-person-strong team.
Decorated in a Turkish theme with neoclassical details, the rooms and suites at Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet come with an espresso machine. They all feature a flat-screen TV with CD and DVD players. A marble bathroom with deep soaking tub is standard.
Located within a glass pavilion in the hotel’s courtyard garden and decorated with Turkish art and Ottoman period features, Seasons Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can also enjoy the popular Sunday brunch.
With stunning views of the Old City, A’YA Lounge is situated on the rooftop and has a rich list of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and a menu of savoury snacks such as mussels dolma, lamb durum and Turkish puff pastry.
The spa at Four Seasons offers pampering health and beauty treatments. Before or after treatments, guests can use the saunas or fitness room.
Please keep in mind that this hotel is temporarily closed for renovation, but will be re-opening in Spring of 2021
