Although Rio de Janeiro Carnival gets all of the headlines, Salvador Carnival in Bahia (in the Northeast of Brazil) is considered the wildest Carnival in Brazil by Brazilians. If you like huge street parties, Salvador, Bahia is the place you want to be. It’s a crowd participation party as parades of live bands on big tall floats with powerful sound systems roll through the city and endless crowds of partiers follow along dancing and partying until the early morning.
Salvador Carnival is concentrated into two main parties – Blocos (on the streets) & Camarotes (huge parties next to the parade circuit to watch the parade as well as other party areas within it)!
