San Sebastian, while “off the map” to many tourists is a well-kept secret for many experienced travelers. It is a small city of approximately 400,000 inhabitants. It is easily reachable from Pamplona by either private vehicle or train (one or two hours respectively) making it an easy add-on for our Running of the Bulls Package. The city also has an international airport.
The city is located only 12 kilometers from the French border and is considered a foodie’s paradise with some of Spain’s best restaurants and delicious food to explore. Food is king in San Sebastian – especially the pintxos (the Basque Country’s equivalent to Spain’s tapas). Traditionally they are bite sized snacks. They range from basic to haute cuisine experiments with all sorts of sophisticated ingredients.
