Our Best of South America Travel Package is fully customizable and can also be rearranged depending on your departure city, preferred destinations and airfare availability. Depending on flight schedules and pricing, we may invert the itinerary and start your trip in Rio de Janeiro instead of Lima. You can also add extra nights, additional destinations or optional excursions throughout your journey.
Best of South America Travel Package Sample Itinerary:
Day 1 – Arrival in Lima, Peru
Depending on your arriving flight, you will either land in Lima in the morning or late at night. Either way, a driver will be waiting for you outside baggage claim to greet you and transfer you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to relax or begin exploring Lima’s world-famous food scene and historic neighborhoods.
Day 2 – Lima City Tour
Enjoy a relaxing morning with breakfast at your hotel. In the afternoon, at around 2:00PM, a guide will pick you up for your city tour of Lima where you will discover the city’s colonial architecture, historic center and beautiful coastal districts.
Day 3 – Lima to Cuzco
After an early breakfast, your driver will transfer you to Lima Airport for your morning flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival, a driver will greet you outside baggage claim and transfer you to your hotel. Because of the altitude, we recommend relaxing for a couple of hours before your afternoon tour. At around 1:30PM, you will be picked up for your tour of Cuzco & Nearby Ruins.
Day 4 – Sacred Valley Tour
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at around 9:00AM for your Full Day Tour of the Sacred Valley where you will visit incredible Andean landscapes, local markets and historic Incan sites including Pisac Market.
Day 5 – Machu Picchu Tour
Wake up early for one of the highlights of your Best of South America Travel Package. Your guide will pick you up at around 7:00AM for your Full Day Tour of Machu Picchu via the scenic Vistadome Train experience.
Day 6 – Cuzco to Buenos Aires
A driver will transfer you to the Cuzco Airport for your flight connecting through Lima to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival in Argentina, a driver will greet you outside baggage claim and transfer you to your hotel. The evening is at leisure to relax, enjoy dinner or explore the city.
Day 7 – Buenos Aires City Tour & Tango Show
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at around 9:00AM for your Half Day Tour of Buenos Aires where you will discover the city’s European-style architecture, neighborhoods and culture. The afternoon is at leisure and later in the evening, a driver will take you to your Tango Show with Dinner experience.
Day 8 – Buenos Aires at Leisure
Today is free for you to enjoy Buenos Aires at your own pace. You can explore the city on your own or add optional excursions such as a Tigre Delta Tour or a traditional Argentine Gaucho Experience.
Day 9 – Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls
A couple of hours before your flight, your driver will transfer you to Buenos Aires’ domestic airport for your short flight to Puerto Iguazu. Upon arrival, a guide will greet you and transfer you to your hotel. We can provide hotels on either side of the falls, but generally recommend staying on the Argentine side when arriving from Argentina or on the Brazilian side when arriving from Brazil for easier logistics. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
Day 10 – Argentine Side of Iguazu Falls
After an early breakfast, your guide will pick you up at around 8:00AM for your Full Day Tour of the Argentine Side of Iguazu Falls where you will experience some of the most impressive panoramic views and walking trails in South America.
Day 11 – Brazilian Side of Iguazu Falls & Rio de Janeiro
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up for your Half Day Tour of the Brazilian Side of Iguazu Falls. Later in the afternoon, a driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro. Upon arrival in Rio, a driver will greet you outside baggage claim and transfer you to your hotel. The evening is free to relax or you may choose to add our optional nightlife service.
Day 12 – Rio Express Tour
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at around 9:00AM for your Rio Express Tour featuring two of the city’s most iconic attractions: Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf Mountain. The evening is at leisure or you may add our optional nightlife service.
Day 13 – Tijuca Forest Jeep Tour & Rio de Janeiro at Leisure
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up for your Tijuca Forest Jeep Tour, where you will explore one of the world’s largest urban rainforests filled with waterfalls, scenic viewpoints and tropical wildlife. The remainder of the day is at leisure for you to relax on the beach, explore Rio on your own or add our optional nightlife service in the evening.
Day 14 – Departure from Rio de Janeiro
Your Best of South America Travel Package has now come to an end with unforgettable memories from Peru, Argentina and Brazil. A driver will pick you up at your hotel approximately 4 hours before your international flight and transfer you to Rio International Airport (GIG) for your journey home.
